This is my third hobby, and though I had done it when I shouldn't have in 2014 and 2015, I really got into it in 2016 and onward. I follow a variety of creators, though I'm more active with some of them than others, and that isn't just because some of them don't post many videos. There are issues, though. For one, some ads have content that creators get punished for using, such as censored nudity, and some even use stolen art and are rewarded by YouTube! Many of these are mobile game ads, and mobile games use predatory microtransactions to earn money. It's successful to the point where a single mobile game has earned three times the amount of money that Avengers: Endgame, the highest grossing movie in the history of the world, did. So blocking them is a must!
On a more positive note, the people I follow on the site have quite a lot of variety. Quite a few are animators, some of which have amazing talent. Others are game developers that I follow to get more information on their creations. Some have multiple channels, so I can subscribe to multiple channels operated by the same person. One example of this is an Australian guy named Wade who currently has three channels that I know of. I'm subscribed to two of them but prefer one due to more consistent uploads.
Even though my fear of getting strikes prevented me from doing so for a while, I faced my fears and made videos of my own. My first video is a parody that's meant to be so bad it's funny, but for some reason, it's by far the most viewed thing on my channel to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if every playlist I created and all of my other videos combined still have less views than that video.
